Scholarships

A number of internal and external scholarship opportunities are available to those applying to RCSI Bahrain programmes. For further details on some of these opportunities, please see below:

The RCSI Bahrain Medicine Scholarships were launched in 2018 as a means of recognising outstanding incoming students in the form of fees concessions for each year of the MB BCh BAO (undergraduate medicine) programme.

RCSI Bahrain is offering two medicine scholarships with 1/3 concession on tuition fees, to be considered for a scholarship, candidates must be in receipt of a full or conditional offer for RCSI Bahrain's undergraduate medicine programme and satisfy the qualifying criteria as outlined below.

Applicants are required to complete and submit the scholarship application form, along with the short essays and a non-academic reference (e.g. Supervisor in a volunteer/charitable organisation). For more information on the scholarship application form, please click on the following link.

Candidates who are in receipt of another scholarship pertaining to their study at RCSI Bahrain will be deemed ineligible for this scholarship programme.

**For GPA-applicable curricula, if degree transcript does not state grade bands for GPA, a letter from the awarding institution confirming these GPA grade bands must be provided. Applications which do not provide this evidence will not be considered.

Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the RCSI Bahrain Scholarships Board and shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a scholarship interview. The purpose of this interview is to provide applicants the opportunity to discuss their essay submissions and their motivations for applying.

Following the interview, the application will be reviewed in full and scholarship offers will be made.

As a means of recognising outstanding incoming students to the BSc in Nursing programme, RCSI Bahrain is offering one scholarship, in the form of full concession of fees for each year of the programme.

The scholarship is open to all Bahraini and non-Bahraini applicants who have completed an interview and in receipt of an Interview Complete Letter for the BSc in Nursing programme, and will be granted on merit, based on the following entry requirements.

Those applying for the scholarship will be required to submit:

  • Completed an application form with the application reference number (along with a 300 - 400 word short essay)

All short-listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview on campus in late June, during which a three-person panel will determine the applicant’s level of knowledge and awareness of current affairs, public health, medical education and careers and suitability as role model for other students.

Official announcement of the scholarships will be published in August once all scholarship recipients are confirmed and the Bahrain Ministry of Education has announced their scholarships.

Candidates who are in receipt of another scholarship pertaining to their study at RCSI Bahrain will be deemed ineligible for this scholarship programme.

The Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Scholarship was launched in 2019 as a means of recognising outstanding incoming students in the form of full fees concessions for each year of the MB BCh BAO (undergraduate medicine) programme.

Only Bahraini candidates who are in receipt of a full or conditional offer for RCSI Bahrain's undergraduate medicine programme and satisfy the qualifying criteria as outlined below will be considered for this scholarship.

Applicants are required to complete and submit through an online application form along with the short essays and a non-academic reference (e.g. Supervisor in a volunteer/charitable organisation).

Candidates who are in receipt of another scholarship pertaining to their study at RCSI Bahrain will be deemed ineligible for this scholarship programme.

The Rayaat Scholarship was launched in 2011 to create an ambitious generation that can play an integral part in developing the community.

  1. HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Scholarships
  2. This scholarship marks the remembrance of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who was a major supporter of the Foundation since its establishment, as it came as part of the late Prince’s efforts and directives. The scholarship is open to Bahraini students who meet the required entry criteria set out by RCSI Bahrain and the AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation and covers full tuition fees as well as other benefits pertaining to the Rayaat Scholarship programme.

  3. Shaikha Moza Bint Hamad Medicine Scholarship
  4. The Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Medicine Scholarship is presented by the AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, as part of the Rayaat Scholarship programme. The scholarship is open to Bahraini students who meet the required entry criteria set out by RCSI Bahrain and the AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation and covers full tuition fees as well as other benefits pertaining to the Rayaat Scholarship programme.
