RCSI Bahrain explores collaboration opportunities with German Ambassador

  • General news

RCSI Bahrain welcomed the recently appointed German Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Clemens Hach, to its campus for a meeting and tour of the campus.

Led by RCSI Bahrain President, Professor Sameer Otoom, in the presence of Professor Alfred Nicholson, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Head of School of Medicine; Professor Stephen Atkin, Head of School of Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr Kathryn Strachan, Director of Quality and Academic Development; and Mr Fadi Ghosn, Head of Recognition, Careers and Alumni, the discussions focused on the different pathways for our alumni to register in Germany, as well as prospects for collaboration with hospitals and universities in Germany for electives and research opportunities for students.

RCSI Bahrain currently has 17 medicine graduates based in Germany and a number of students already engaged with the German Embassy in Bahrain for German language courses through the University’s Careers and Alumni Office.

Professor Otoom commented: “RCSI Bahrain is keen on increasing the number of institutions available for our students to pursue electives and we are delighted to collaborate with His Excellency Ambassador Clemens Hach to seek more opportunities for students and alumni. One of the University’s strategic aims is to strengthen the support provided for the career progression of our alumni and we look forward to a fruitful collaboration with His Excellency and the German Embassy.”
