Dr McCarthy advances quality improvement and patient safety research, directing the MSc in Quality and Safety in Healthcare Management at RCSI. She serves on the editorial board of the IJQHC, is a founding member of the EQUIPS Research Network, and contributes to the National Office for Clinical Audit Impact Committee.
