Qualifying as a surgeon, in any specialty, is the start of a lifelong journey of learning and professional development.

Completing professional exams is a key factor in this development. Holding the qualification of MRCS, FRCS or DO-HNS demonstrates to colleagues, peers, and employers your commitment to your practice.

FRCS and MRCS

RCSI conducts Membership (MRCS) and Fellowship (FRCS) exams in Ireland and at numerous overseas locations.

Ophthalmology

Ophthalmic trainees can apply for MRCSI (Ophth) and FRCSI (Ophth) exams at RCSI.

Otolaryngology

The Diploma of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (DO-HNS) consists of two elements: a written exam and an OSCE.

Court of Examiners

The RCSI Court of Examiners was established to acknowledge the essential contribution made by our examiners to the achievement of the College's mission: 'to educate, nurture and discover for the benefit of human health'.
