RCSI confers new Fellows, Members and Diplomates at December conferring ceremonies

December 2016 RCSI Conferring

RCSI conferred 215 healthcare professionals with postgraduate fellowship and memberships at two conferring ceremonies held in the College on St Stephen's Green on Monday, 12th December 2016.

The morning conferring ceremony, was a Fellows, Members and Diplomates conferring of the College's faculties. Fellowships of the Faculty of Radiologists in Radiodiagnosis, Radiation Oncology and a Fellowship Ad Eundem were be conferred, as well as Fellowship of RCSI's Faculty of Dentistry in Oral Surgery with Oral Medicine, Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Ad Eundem Fellowships. Memberships of the Faculty of Dentistry were awarded to candidates along with Diplomas of Primary Care Dentistry.

Fellowships of the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery, including Ad Eundem Fellowships, and Fellowships of the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine, including those by election and Ad Eundem, were also granted. Finally, Fellowships of the Faculty of Radiologists in Radiodiagnosis and a Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiologists Ad Eundem were conferred on candidates.

The afternoon ceremony saw Fellowships and Memberships in surgery awarded to candidates, which included Fellowships and Fellowships Ad Eundem of RCSI as well as Memberships of RCSI including Memberships in ENT and Ophthalmology. 

Professor John Hyland, President of RCSI said, "For our candidates, this conferring is a very important milestone as these two ceremonies mark either the successful completion or the next vital step in their various training programmes. I congratulate all of today's candidates and wish them all the very best in their future careers in each specialty which they have chosen. It is a pleasure to celebrate their application to their training and dedication and commitment to their patients and their profession".
