RCSI Alumnus Dr Sheraz Daya is credited as the surgeon who restored TV presenter and author Katie Piper's vision after a vicious acid attack in 2008.
In 2012, Piper underwent pioneering surgery performed by Dr Daya and his surgical team at the Queen Victoria Hospital in the UK, which she says has transformed her life.
In 2017, both Dr Daya (Medicine, Class of 1984) and Katie Piper visited RCSI as part of our 'In Conversation with ...' series to share their insights and discuss the unique relationship between doctor and patient.
