The RCSI Institute of Leadership provides onsite process improvement training and advisory services to healthcare organisations embarking on a continuous improvement journey.
This training is provided by the Quality and Process Improvement Centre (QPIC), a standalone unit, integrated within the RCSI Institute of Leadership.
Quality and Process Improvement Centre
RCSI’s Quality and Process Improvement Centre (QPIC) was established in May 2016 with a strategic focus of delivering in-situ multidisciplinary team process improvement training, using lean, six sigma and the IHI Model for improvement.
The centre also advises senior management teams on the critical success factors to develop sustainable and impactful Improvement programmes in their organisations. At the Institute of Leadership, we believe the delivery of onsite programmes – supported by RCSI’s improvement advisors – is a key step in supporting organisations to develop and embed Improvement capability.
In order for the Irish healthcare system and others to grow improvement capability, QPIC, as part of RCSI’s Institute of Leadership, can play a key role in the development and delivery of formal ‘improvement programmes’, from introductory to improvement advisor level. This is an area the HSE and other providers recognise as an essential requirement to support their improvement journeys.
The Institute of Leadership’s MSc offerings are a natural follow-on for participants of the improvement programmes as part of their ongoing professional development journey.
Our MSc programmes are strongly rooted in improvement science and we believe QPIC’s in-situ based work will further enhance and support the Institute’s highly regarded reputation in this important area.
