Yes, our programmes are accredited by the National University of Ireland (NUI).

Applicants for our MSc programmes must hold a primary degree. Applicants should normally be working in the Healthcare sector as all our programmes are practice-based. English Proficiency – IELTS Score of 6.0 or equivalent score. Note, exemption is applicable for those who completed school or undergraduate studies through English or who have been working in a country or for an employer where English is the spoken language (3 years or more).

Our programmes are delivered through a blend of online content and activities and live interactive sessions, to offer a collaborative and supported student experience. Our experienced team have the skills and technology to provide a rich and engaging online experience and will be on hand to smooth your course for success as you commence your studies, no matter what your level of technical ability. Students will have the opportunity to become part of an international, healthcare focused, learning community, as they are supported to engage through collaborative group work, team building and networking opportunities – benefiting from each other’s experience in a safe and supported environment. 

Yes, any face to face days will be supplemental to core teaching material and attendance will be optional.

If you have successfully completed Modules 1-3, you will be an eligible for an exit award of a Postgraduate Certificate. If you have successfully passed the assignments for all five Year 1 modules, you may choose to complete one additional 10 ECTS module to receive an internationally recognised postgraduate diploma in your chosen programme.

Yes. The minimum time required to complete the MSc programme is two years. However, the programme is flexible, in that you can complete it within five years. This means that you can complete a number of modules and, once you have successfully completed the modules assignments, you will not have to re-take those modules or re-submit for those assignments, provided you complete the MSc programme within five years. 

It is not possible to accelerate the course and complete in less than two years.

No, we would encourage you to start your application as soon as possible. To complete your application you will need to upload the following documents: 

  • Passport style photograph (Head, shoulders and a blank background). Photographs must be recent and of the individual applying for the programme

  • Clear copy of a valid passport

  • Copy of academic transcripts/degree (level 8 degree on the National Framework of Qualifications)

  • Updated copy of CV

  • Copy of English proficiency test. IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent score

Exemption is applicable for those who completed school or undergraduate studies through English or who have been working in a country or for an employer where English is the spoken language (3 years or more). 

Please note that applications do not have to be started and finished in one sitting. When the application is started, applicants will be issued with a username and password and they can use this to re-access the application as needed until they have completed same- so people can start the process and take their time gathering paperwork and completing.

You will receive a confirmation email to acknowledge receipt of your application. Applications are reviewed on a rolling bases – if your application is in order you will be sent an offer, otherwise a member of our team will be in contact.

We do not specify a deadline, as places are limited and the programmes are popular. Applications are received up to 11 months before the next intake. You are advised to apply early.

Students on our programmes come from a range of healthcare backgrounds. The multidisciplinary construct of our classes ensures a diverse range of healthcare perspectives and a rich opportunity for  fostering collaborative learning among multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals.    

Students include doctors, nurses, health and social care practitioners and healthcare based managers and executives of all levels of experience and seniority.   

Your learning on each module is assessed by one of a number of methods: written reflection, individual assignment or team assignment and case studies. There are no written examinations included in the assessment strategy. 

All materials and resources will be provided. You will not need to purchase any materials. All students will have access to the following valuable resources:  

  • Comprehensive Orientation Programme- guiding you through the online platforms and preparing you for postgraduate learning 
  • Virtual Learning Environment – our accessible and intuitive virtual learning platform is easy to navigate and contains everything you need to complete your studies and smooth your student journey 
  • RCSI Online Library – accessible from wherever you are in the world, our expert team of health information specialists provide advice and services ranging from expert search and retrieval, information and digital literacy skills development, research data management, bibliometric profiling, open access publishing and onsite and online services 
  • Academic writing and support – We understand that many students need support returning to higher education and academic writing. Our Academic Writing and Support Hub contains a suite of resources and supports to reintroduce the concepts of academic writing. Regular live workshops and drop in group writing sessions support a tailored programme of support for each student. 
  • The following software and programmes are available free of charge to all students: Microsoft 365 online, Free Grammarly Subscription, EndNote - Bibliographic reference manager and LinkedIn learning
