Supporting our students

COVID-19 has impacted all aspects of our students' lives, from financial to mental health issues.

Over the past 12 months our students have faced many new challenges, including remote learning, lockdowns, unemployment, as well as isolation from friends and family.

How your donations make a difference

Due to COVID-19, my mother had to close her business – she was supporting me financially up until that point. I was under pressure from my landlord for rent when I applied for the Hardship Fund. I received money from the fund which meant I could cover my rent and continue with my course. I am so grateful for this fund, I truly do not know what I would have done without its support.

I previously worked during the summer to support myself throughout the academic year. When the restaurants in Dublin closed last year, I had no way to work and was ineligible for government support. The Student Hardship Fund covered my transport costs so that I could continue with my clinical placements. I would have had to take a year out without it, now I hope to graduate with the rest of my class in 2021.
