International outlook

We are a not-for-profit health sciences university with a global reach through medical universities and healthcare centres in the Middle East, the Far East and Africa.

Today, we have over 32,000 alumni from 103 countries and over 60% of our student population is international, hosting 4,000 students from 90 countries in our main Dublin campus.

Our alumni, Members and Fellows are among the most sought-after healthcare professionals in the world and it is often through this network that we leverage and build our international relationships and educational partnerships and exchanges.

We believe that international collaboration is fundamental to our mission: to educate, nurture and discover for the benefit of human health. We achieve this through building communities of interest, shaping innovation and teaching excellence within a global footprint. RCSI provides a truly international experience for staff and students with strong connections across the world.

Our international focus equips our students with the skills and confidence to meet the challenge of delivering healthcare in a complex global environment of diverse populations and cultures.

Through our International Citizenship Programme and other student opportunities, we develop students to become global citizens. They learn from the challenges and benefits of multiculturalism to appreciate how diversity can enhance their personal and professional lives.

RCSI is constantly seeking to build our capacity and contributions to educational excellence through nurturing and expanding our international education connections.

We provide collaborative educational opportunities for all our staff. This involves international staff mobility and professional development, forging global partnerships and providing funding to support collaboration with health sciences education peers world-wide.
