International Research Conference
The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) is playing joint-host to an international research conference in collaboration with the University of Bahrain (UOB) and under the patronage of the Supreme Council for Health Chairman, His Excellency, Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
Over 100 research abstracts will be presented during the conference, with international representation from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Ireland, India, the UK and North America.
The abstracts covered topics from molecular subtypes of breast cancer in Bahrain to thoracic complications of bariatric surgeries in addition to an epidemiological study of multiple sclerosis in the region.
The organisation of this conference falls in line with the University’s research strategy, which in turn is blue-printed against the HEC’s National Research Strategy.
