Chairman of Supreme Council of Health meets with Scholarship Winners

His Excellency Lt General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health hosted the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) Medical University of Bahrain’s recipients of the Dr Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Scholarship.

The meeting was held with four Bahraini students in the undergraduate medicine programme Ms Baheya AlDawaishan (Senior Cycle 2), Ms Maryam Alshehabi (Senior Cycle 1), Ms Bushra Hasan (MED 2) and Mr Ahmed Alaraibi (MED 1), who shared their academic progress and journey at RCSI Medical University in Bahrain in addition to their future aspirations and career plans after graduation.

Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, Mr Stephen Harrison-Mirfield, Managing Director, Professor Alfred Nicholson, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Head of School of Medicine and Dr Declan Gaynor, Senior Lecturer in Chemistry and Academic Director of Admissions were also in attendance.

Professor Otoom commented, “We extend our gratitude to His Excellency Lt General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health for his continuous support for the development of healthcare and medical education for Bahraini nationals. We wish our students the best in their studies and look forward to their positive contributions as future healthcare leaders in Bahrain and beyond.”

The Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship to recognise and support outstanding incoming students, to pursue the undergraduate medicine programme at RCSI Medical University of Bahrain.
