Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, hosted a meeting with the President of Bahrain Medical Society (BMS), Dr Amer Alderazi, and Vice President of BMS, Dr Amal Al-Ghanem, on campus in November.

Dr Alderazi introduced the new BMS Board of Directors and shared updates on the society’s activities and services offered to doctors and members in Bahrain. Areas of collaboration were discussed, specifically opportunities for medical students such as clinical electives and volunteering, pathway talks, research opportunities and internship courses. Dr Alderazi also mentioned that BMS plans to reinstate a medical student membership and explore ways to support medical graduates. 

Professor Otoom commented on the meeting: “At RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, we value our relationship with the Bahrain Medical Society, and we continuously look for opportunities to assist our students in their professional and personal development.”
