Nursing Faculty Showcase Expertise at the Critical Emergency and Advanced Nursing Conference
On 20 November, the Critical, Emergency and Advanced Nursing Conference was inaugurated in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health. The event, organised by the Government Hospitals in cooperation with the Bahrain Doctors Association (BDA), was held with RCSI Medical University of Bahrain as a strategic partner, bringing together leading nursing and healthcare specialists from Bahrain and abroad.
The two-day conference showcased the latest scientific developments and innovative practices in critical and emergency care, as well as in advanced nursing. It served as a significant platform for knowledge exchange among medical and nursing professionals, contributing to the ongoing advancement of healthcare services within the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Faculty members from the School of Nursing and Midwifery actively participated, presenting their research and sharing their expertise in nursing education. Professor Husain Nasaif, Associate Professor in Nursing & Director of MSc Nursing Programme,delivered a keynote address titled “Advanced Practice Nursing at Crossroads: Are We Ready?”, while Dr Eman Tawash, Senior Lecturer in Nursing & Deputy Head of School of Nursing & Midwifery, contributed as co-moderator for the session on Interprofessional Collaboration, Leadership and Education. Dr Maryam Alaradi, Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Director of BSc Nursing Programme presented her research“From Classroom to Critical Care: The RCSI Bahrain Experience in Interprofessional Learning,” while Ms Sumaya Faraj, Lecturer in Nursing, spoke on “Enhancing Critical Care Competence through Progressive Simulation: Preparing Undergraduate Nursing Students for Real-World Practice.”
