RCSI Medical University of Bahrain Celebrates Alumni Success in France, Advancing Bahrain–France Collaboration in Medical Training
The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) - Medical University of Bahrain was honoured to host its European Alumni Reunion in Paris, held at the residence of His Excellency Mr Essam Abdulaziz Al-Jassim, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to France. The event marked a significant milestone in the University’s ongoing commitment to fostering lifelong connections among its global alumni community and strengthening ties with Bahraini medical professionals advancing their careers across Europe.
The evening was attended by His Excellency Mr Essam Abdulaziz Al-Jassim, alongside senior representatives from RCSI Medical University of Bahrain including Mr Stephen Harrison-Mirfield, Managing Director, and Mr Fadi Ghosn, Head of Recognition, Careers & Alumni. The occasion served as an opportunity to celebrate the milestone anniversaries of the Classes of 2010 and 2015, which brought together alumni travelling from France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Bahrain and Canada.
Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Mr Essam Abdulaziz Al-Jassim stated: “Following the historic visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to France in 2019, which opened new avenues for Bahraini graduates to pursue specialised residency programmes, I am proud to witness the growing number of Bahraini medical professionals who are now training in France. Their achievements reflect the deepening cooperation between Bahrain and France in the fields of medical education and clinical training.
The Embassy remains firmly committed to supporting Bahraini medical graduates, many of whom are Alumni of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, and to strengthening partnerships with French academic and medical institutions. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Bahraini doctors currently training or practising in France."
Mr Harrison-Mirfield expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for hosting the event, noting: “It is a pleasure to convene with our Alumni in Paris, and we extend our sincere gratitude to His Excellency Mr Essam Abdulaziz Al-Jassim for his gracious hospitality. We hold in the highest regard the dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence demonstrated by our alumni, many of whom have secured places on esteemed residency programmes in France and internationally. Our Alumni’s accomplishments stand as a testament to their dedication, and I wish them continued success as they advance in their careers and contribute to the improvement of healthcare and the well-being of communities worldwide.”
