RCSI Medical University of Bahrain's Research Community celebrated at RMS Research Day
RCSI Medical University of Bahrain proudly participated in the RMS Research Day held at the Crown Prince Centre for Training and Medical Research on Thursday, 23rd October 2025 in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Her Excellency Dr Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, and His Excellency Brigadier (Prof) Fahad Khalifa Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services (RMS).
The Opening Ceremony featured a keynote address by Professor Michael Keogh, RCSI Bahrain, Associate Professor in Human Biology, on “TERG Bahrain Research Updates at the Crown Prince Centre for Medical Training and Research.” RCSI Bahrain is proud of the impactful research he presented, which reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to advancing medical education and research in the region.
The event also featured around 209 research studies completed between 2024 and August 2025, of which 14 were selected for oral presentation and 17 for electronic display based on their scientific value and contribution to the Services’ reputation in research and academic publishing.
We extend our thanks and congratulations to our alumni, whose engagement strengthened our presence and impact at this important forum:
• Captain Dr Fares Uddin (Class of 2013) was awarded the Best Comprehensive Research.
• Dr Rula Naqi (Class of 2021) was awarded for her research and presentation on “Sinonasal Malignant Melanoma.”
• Dr Noor Bin Sanad (Class of 2020), who was awarded for presenting one of the best published research papers at the RMS Research Day 2025
• Dr Priya Das, Postdoctoral Researcher, who received the Best Interinstitutional Collaboration award.
Their participation exemplifies how our institution supports and celebrates the research endeavours of our community of alumni and students alike. We are proud of everyone’s contribution to the broader research ecosystem in Bahrain and beyond.
