MOU Between Amana Healthcare Bahrain and RCSI Bahrain Supports Bahrain’s Specialist Healthcare
Amana Healthcare Bahrain, part of M42’s world-class portfolio of healthcare providers and developed in partnership with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) – Medical University of Bahrain. Marking a significant step in advancing clinical education and workforce development in the Kingdom, the MOU was signed by Dr Mohamed Ameen AlSaati, CEO of M42 Bahrain, and Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, during a ceremony held at Amana Healthcare Bahrain in Al Jasra. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration across clinical training, research, and academic engagement.
Under the MOU, the two institutions will collaborate across a range of high-impact initiatives designed to strengthen Bahrain’s clinical workforce and advance specialist healthcare education. With the support of Amana Healthcare Bahrain, RCSI Medical University of Bahrain students will benefit from structured clinical rotations, hands-on learning in real-world care environments, and multidisciplinary training experiences. The collaboration will also support joint research initiatives aligned with national healthcare priorities, creating a comprehensive platform that bridges academic excellence with evidence-based specialist clinical practice and workforce development.
For RCSI Medical University of Bahrain students, the collaboration creates clearer pathways between academic learning and clinical practice. By gaining exposure to complex patient cases in long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation, students will be better equipped with the practical skills, clinical judgement, and multidisciplinary experience needed to transition confidently into the workforce.
For Amana Healthcare Bahrain, the partnership plays a strategic role in building a sustainable pipeline of clinicians with expertise in specialized care areas that are critical to the Kingdom’s evolving healthcare needs. Early exposure to these disciplines helps bridge existing gaps in clinical capability while strengthening long-term workforce readiness.
At a national level, the collaboration is expected to support the Kingdom of Bahrain’s healthcare sector by contributing to skills development and knowledge transfer.
