The annual Millin Meeting will take place in RCSI on Friday, 14 November 2025. The theme for the meeting this year is 'Shaping Future Surgical Research and Training'.
Registration for the meeting will open in the coming weeks.
Call for abstracts
The RCSI National Surgical Research Support Centre (NSRSC) will host the Millin Meeting Research Symposium to share its vision for shaping the future of surgical research in Ireland.
The symposium will showcase Irish surgical research and highlight research opportunities for surgeons. An exciting session with early, mid-career researchers and established clinician scientists will offer insights into how to embed research into your career path and how research can impact your clinical practice.
Pre-call announcement for abstract submissions
We strongly encourage surgical trainees, NCHDs and early career surgeons from all specialties to submit your abstract to showcase your research and compete for the RCSI National Surgical Research Medal.
Abstract submission will open at the end of July 2025 and close early September 2025. Successful submissions will be invited to present their work at the conference.

Part II: RCSI NATIONAL SURGICAL RESEARCH COMPETITION – The winner of the best overall presentation in this session will receive the RCSI National Surgical Research Medal. The call for abstracts will open at the end of July and close the second week in September. Five presenters will be selected to present at this session. Presenters will be announced in the coming months. |

Presentation of awards – Award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Trial Activity – The NSRSC Award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Trial Activity will be presented to the investigator/clinical research team in recognition of their contribution to a clinical trials’ success. – Surgical Research Poster Presentation Awards – Certificates will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. – Award of RCSI National Surgical Research Medal – The RCSI National Surgical Research Medal will be awarded to the best overall oral research presentation. |
