Explore RCSI's 26 York Street as part of Open House 2025.
Spread over 10 floors – six above ground and four subterranean – the building respects the Georgian Dublin area that surrounds it.
As you enter 26 York Street you will be greeted by RCSI and Open House staff who will introduce you to the award-winning building, designed by leading architecture firm Henry J. Lyons. Collaboration was at the heart of this building's design: natural light floods in from the windows down through the atrium, revealing many areas for both quiet study and interaction.
You will learn how sustainability, aesthetics and technology combine to provide the RCSI healthcare community with world-class training and education facilities right in the heart of Dublin city.
This year for the Open House, Festival of Architecture, RCSI 26 York Street has been shortlisted as a beacon of accessibility. We will open the doors of 26 York Street to members of the public who will be guided around RCSI’S state-of-the-art building by expert tour guides.
As well as tours for the general public, we will also offer tactile tours. As part of our commitment to access and widening participation these tours for the visually impaired will deepen our engagement with as many communities as possible.
3D models featuring elements of 26 York Street will be on display on the ground floor of the building. The 3D models have been developed with researcher, Tadhg Charles, and with the support of Vision Ireland.
