Do you want to become a next generation scientist? Do you love biology and health sciences? Are you interested in the latest technology? Would you like to research and develop the latest medicines, treatments and health technologies and work in the thriving (bio)pharma industry in Ireland. If so, RCSI’s BSc Advanced Therapeutic Technologies is the course for you.

Get career ready with RCSI’s new science degree by fusing the latest scientific health discoveries with traditional science to develop advanced medicines and technologies from lab to market.

RCSI will host an in-person on-campus open day devoted to this programme on Saturday, 2 November 2026 from 12-3pm for September 2027 CAO applications.

During the event, prospective Advanced Therapeutic Technologies students and their parents/guardians and teachers will have the opportunity to meet with senior faculty and current students who will provide an overview and an insight into their experience of this career-ready science degree, along with admission requirement essentials, RCSI’s world-class facilities, student life, and the career supports available to RCSI students.

They will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have about the course.

On the day, prospective students will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear from our expert lecturers about the nine key areas covered in this science degree, including fundamental sciences, genetics and genomics, pharmacology, computational biology/data analytics, immunology, connected health, pharmaceutics, precision medicine, and professional power skills.
  • Listen to our current students’ stories and experiences of the course to date and ask any relevant questions.
  • Learn key information about this degree and the admissions process.
  • Participate in practical workshops and laboratory demonstrations, specially designed for this event, to sample a flavour of what life as an RCSI student will be like.
  • Get answers from relevant staff about any specific questions you may have about the degree.
