Graduates return to RCSI for joyful reunion weekend

Earlier this month RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences welcomed more than 600 alumni and guests from all over the world to the Dublin campus for the 2025 RCSI Alumni Gathering.
The annual event took place from 14-16 August and brought a diverse array of graduates from 21 countries together to reunite, reminisce and engage in a lively programme that commenced with a Welcome Reception in the historic surroundings of RCSI’s College Hall and Board Room. A special Jubilee Celebration was also held for a group of alumni who were marking 50 and 60 years since their graduation from RCSI.
A key element of the Gathering is the Scientific Meeting of the Association of Medical and Dental Graduates, supported by Fáilte Ireland. This year, the meeting brought 11 alumni speakers together to present on a wide variety of topics, from prenatal therapy for congenital blood disorders, to home healthcare models for ageing populations, to the links between RCSI and Oscar Wilde. Alumni were also invited to take part in a range of recreational activities over the course of the three-day event, including campus tours, open house demonstrations in RCSI’s SIM Centre, heritage talks as well as the opportunity to take part in the Poolbeg 5K ParkRun. The Gathering drew to a lively close with a Gala Dinner at the Mansion House.
Aíne Gibbons, Director of Development and Alumni Relations at RCSI, commented on this year’s event: “It is always a pleasure to welcome graduates back to RCSI for the Alumni Gathering, and heartwarming to witness the enduring friendships and connections between classmates and colleagues over the course of the weekend. We hope that this year’s Gathering has given attendees the opportunity to reconnect, and also to pause and reflect on their individual and collective achievements as healthcare professionals – they are shining examples for the RCSI students who will follow in their footsteps.”
