Casting for the Upper and Lower Limb

Summary

This course will concentrate on knowledge in relation to correct cast application and removal for the upper and lower limb, caring for the limb in a cast and preventing associated complications. Correct selection of casts for specific fractures and ligament injuries will be demonstrated and performed.

There will be clinical scenarios built into the day with discussions on the correct selection of casts for upper and lower limb fractures and ligament injuries.

This course is suitable for SHOs and registrars in all surgical specialties and emergency medicine doctors.

Note: Participants will need to wear scrubs/shorts to enable upper and lower limb casting for this course.
