Summary

It is an intensive, interactive course intended to teach a systematic approach to the management of the trauma patient through interactive discussions, skills teaching and simulated patient management scenarios (moulages).
Participants will receive the ATLS Provider course manual and access to the ATLS learning platform where 13 one-hour modules must be completed prior to being allowed attend the two day face-to-face course. There are continuous assessments throughout the course culminating in an end-of-course MCQ and moulage assessment.
ATLS is taught by clinicians who are experienced in trauma care and who have each both completed and excelled on the Provider course to the level that they have been invited to attend the ATLS Instructor course (a special educational course to optimise their teaching skills).
Each student will have the benefit of a mentor and faculty will be present throughout the course to help with any queries. On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with an ATLS Provider Certificate which is valid for four years from the date of the course.
