The School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences at RCSI is dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical science through research and education.
The scope of our research encompasses the full spectrum of the translational research continuum, from basic laboratory science to study the fundamental mechanisms of disease, right through to the development of novel therapeutics or diagnostic biomarkers, together with enabling medical technologies and healthcare products/devices and finally into therapeutics, pharmacy practice and population health.
Our research is of high societal impact with a number of drugs or related products developed in-house either in clinical trials or in a pipeline spin-out. We also have a strong portfolio of patents and research that contributes directly to healthcare policymaking.
