Desmond Vincent Kneafsey

PRCSI (1988-1990)

A licentiate of RCSI and RCPI, Desmond V. Kneafsey went on to obtain his FRCSI in (1948). In the main he worked as consultant thoracic surgeon in the Merlin Park Hospital, Galway; Ardkeen Hospital, Waterford and was a statutory lecturer at UCG. It is claimed he is one the last surgeons to have extensive experience of surgery for TB. He was made Honorary Member of the Western Surgical Club and received the distinguished RCSI graduate award in 2004.
