Europaediatrics – the flagship biennial congress of the European Paediatric Association (EPA) and Union of National European Paediatric Societies and Associations (UNEPSA) – will take place in The Convention Centre Dublin on 13-15 June 2019. The theme of the meeting is ‘Prevention and Therapeutic Innovations in Paediatrics and Child Health’.

The meeting will be attended by approximately 2,000 healthcare professionals working in primary, secondary and tertiary care child and adolescent healthcare across Europe and internationally.

The programme consists of international experts speaking on a range of topics and providing interactive up-to-date, evidence-based best practice information and guidance relevant to all health professionals.

Speakers and topics include:

  • Challenges in child health (Prof. Zulfiqar Bhutta, Canada, President IPA)
  • Child health in Europe and the migrant child (Prof. Martin Weber, WHO. DNK)
  • New vaccines and controversies. Dispelling the myths (Prof. Karina Butler, IRL)
  • Microbial resistance and new antibiotics (Prof. Robert Cohen, FR)
  • The genomic revolution and its clinical implications (Prof. Arnold Munnich, FR)
  • Obesity prevention and genetic influences (Prof. Sir Stephen O’Rahilly, UK)
  • Social media benefits and risks for children and adolescents (Dr Damian Roland, UK)
  • Editor’s Choice: 5 publications that most changed paediatric practice in the last 5 years (Prof. Nick Brown, Chief Editor Archives of Disease in Childhood)

Submit an abstract

Late breaking abstracts will be accepted during the period between 15-24 April. These can be submitted through europaediatrics2019.org

There will be the opportunity to have a late breaking oral communication or a printed poster.

All accepted abstracts will be published in Archive of Disease in Childhood in a late breaking chapter.

There will be prizes awarded at the meeting for:

  • The best poster
  • Best young paediatrician case report
  • Best young paediatrician research poster
