Join us for the launch of HERA Ireland, the Health Equity Research Alliance, an RCSI initiative bringing people, evidence and action together to strengthen equity-informed health research in Ireland.

This free event aims to connect, learn and shape a coordinated approach to equitable health research in Ireland.

The launch will be followed by a STROBE-Equity masterclass led by Omar Dewidar, a leading contributor to the development and application of equity reporting guidelines.

Guest speaker will be Jordi Pardo Pardo, internationally recognised for his work on equity, implementation science and global health. This will be followed by a panel discussion of national and international experts.

Speakers

Omar Dewidar

Omar Dewidar is a health equity researcher and guideline methodologist based at the University of Ottawa and affiliated with Cochrane Canada. His work focuses on embedding equity, fairness and justice across the full research and guideline development lifecycle, with particular emphasis on reporting standards, implementation and policy relevance.

Omar has co-authored influential international guidance on advancing health equity in clinical and public health guidelines and is a leading contributor to equity-focused methodological innovation, including the STROBE-Equity Guidelines.

Jordi Pardo Pardo

Jordi Pardo Pardo is a senior health equity leader with over two decades of experience in evidence synthesis and global research collaboration. A long-standing member of Cochrane, he currently serves as Senior Advisor with the Cochrane Health Equity Thematic Network and Interim Chair of Cochrane.

Jordi has held leadership roles across Cochrane Musculoskeletal, the Equity Methods Group, Cochrane Canada, and the Iberoamerican Cochrane Centre. His work has been central to advancing health equity in systematic reviews, guidelines, and methodological standards internationally.
