This week, RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences will welcome more than 520 alumni and guests from all over the world for the RCSI Alumni Gathering event at St Stephen’s Green.

The celebratory event, which brings together former RCSI classmates to reunite, engage and exchange ideas, runs from 16–19 August, and welcomes a diverse array of graduates from 18 countries and across 13 class years.

Attendees will take part in a programme of events at RCSI including a Welcome Reception, a Jubilee Celebration and a Memorial Service. Central to the Gathering event is the 2023 Scientific Meeting of the Association of Medical and Dental Graduates of RCSI, which is supported by Fáilte Ireland. At the meeting 12 alumni speakers will present on a wide variety of topics.

Alumni will also take part in a range of recreational activities over the coming days, including tours of the historic RCSI building at 123 St Stephen’s Green, RCSI's art collection, an open house demonstration at the SIM Centre, and the opportunity to join the Poolbeg 5K ParkRun. The reunion weekend will draw to a close with a Gala Dinner at the Mansion House.

Aíne Gibbons, Director of Development and Alumni Relations at RCSI, commented on this year’s event: "It is with great pleasure that we welcome former students and their families back to Dublin for the Alumni Gathering, commemorating their time spent at RCSI, as well as the careers and experiences they have gone on to have. This Alumni Gathering of more than 500 RCSI graduates from 18 countries is testament to the indelible mark our graduates leave on the global landscape of healthcare and medicine. We look forward to the exchanging of insights and learnings over the coming days, as well as rekindling of special bonds that were formed here and have stood the test of time.”

This year's Gathering welcomes alumni from the RCSI School of Medicine and RCSI Faculty of Dentistry who graduated in class years 1953, 1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2018. It is the largest ever Alumni Gathering, apart from the exceptional bumper Gathering of 2022, which catered for all years who had missed their reunions due to COVID-19.
