The Beaumont RCSI Cancer Conference 2024 will take place on Thursday, 16 May 2024 at the Smurfit Education and Research Building, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9.

'Cancer Care for All: Understanding Populations to Improve Outcomes' will examine themes of healthcare outcomes, and equity and access in cancer diagnostics and cancer research.

Speakers on the day will include:

  • Professor Edward Gregg PhD 
    Professor and Head of the School of Population Health, RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences

    Consultant Medical Oncologist, Beaumont Hospital
  • Professor Mark Lawler  
    Professor of Digital Health, Queen's University Belfast; Chair of the Lancet Oncology European Groundshot Commission, and Chair of the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership
  • Siobhan Gaynor  
    Patient Consultative Committee member, Cancer Trials Ireland

Call for Abstracts for the Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre Research Award

Invitations are open for poster abstracts under the following themes:

  • Understanding cancer populations
  • Cancer outcomes.

Submission guidelines:

  • 200 words max, excluding title and affiliations
  • Abstracts should include introduction, methodology and findings
  • Abstracts should not include tables or graphs
  • Abstract submission is by email to cancerdirectorate@beaumont.ie.

15 submissions will be selected for presentation on Thursday, 16 May 2024, between 12.45 and 13.30. They will be judged by Professor Willie Hamilton and Professor Patrick Redmond.

Final date for submissions: Wednesday, 8 May 2024.
