RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences celebrated the achievements of more than 1,600 graduates who received postgraduate qualifications across three Winter Conferring Ceremonies held at The Convention Centre Dublin on 30 October 2026.

The ceremonies brought together graduates from across a diverse range of healthcare disciplines who have undertaken further education to develop their expertise, strengthen healthcare leadership and contribute to improved patient outcomes.

The first ceremony of the day saw more than 400 graduates awarded postgraduate qualifications in areas including clinical leadership, loss and bereavement, and digital health transformation.

This conferring also marked a significant milestone for RCSI, with the first graduates of the Master of Science in Population Health Leadership receiving their degrees. The programme reflects the growing importance of population health approaches in addressing complex healthcare challenges and supporting the development of effective, sustainable health systems.

A further 343 graduates were recognised during the second Postgraduate Academic Awards Degree Ceremony, receiving qualifications including Master of Surgery (MCh) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees. Graduates were awarded with qualifications spanning healthcare ethics and law, healthcare management, advanced clinical practice, and nursing and midwifery.

The day's celebrations concluded with the Professional Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma Conferring Ceremony, where more than 800 graduates from RCSI's School of Nursing and Midwifery were recognised for their achievements.

Across the three ceremonies, candidates were presented by Professor Cathal Kelly, Vice Chancellor of RCSI, and conferred by Professor Michael Kerin, President of RCSI. Congratulating the graduates on their achievements, Professor Cathal Kelly, Vice Chancellor of RCSI, said: “Your conferring today is a wonderful celebration of your achievements and a tribute to each and every one of you. It represents many years of hard work and is testament to your dedicated focus on a career in health sciences.”

These Conferring Ceremonies are an important occasion in RCSI's academic calendar, recognising the achievements of healthcare professionals who have balanced the demands of postgraduate study with their professional and personal commitments.

The achievements celebrated at this year's ceremonies reflect RCSI's continued commitment to advancing healthcare education, developing future healthcare leaders and equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact on patient care and health systems in Ireland and internationally.
