Summary
The Core Competencies in Vascular Surgery course will cover treatment of superficial venous disease, dissection and control of major vascular structures, ligation of vessels and haemostasis.
There will also be an introduction to basic endovascular skills.
Suitable for: SHOs, registrars.

- Ultrasound-guided cannulation of a superficial vein for the treatment of varicose veins.
- Understanding the rationale for endovenous treatment of varicose veins.
- Vessel control and ligation in the setting of haemostasis.
- A range of vascular anastomosis and patch repair techniques.
- Knowledge of sheaths, wires, and catheters used in endovascular surgery.
