Summary
This course is designed for SHOs in surgery and emergency medicine who are commencing their training pathway.
This course will provide attendees with the basic surgical skills which form the basis of most surgical procedures. There will also be an opportunity to further develop these skills and perform some simulated minor procedures.
Suitable for: Surgical SHOs.
Learning outcomes
- Proficiency in basic surgical skills of familiarity of instruments and sutures, knot-tying and suturing
- Knowledge of operating room etiquette, scrubbing and gowning, documentation of consent and operating notes
- Surgical concepts and techniques used in performing common minor procedures.
