Summary
Management of Complex Aortic Aneurysms is a hybrid course with four hours of online pre-course material and one full-day in the wet lab National Surgical Skills Centre at RCSI Dublin.
This course will cover planning, patient selection and open/endovascular skills needed to comprehensively treat these patients in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Suitable for: Surgical NCHDs with an interest in vascular surgery.
Learning outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of relevant aortic anatomy.
- Identify appropriate patient selection for relevant treatment modalities.
- Interpret pre, intra and post-operative imaging in relation to complex aortic procedures.
- Develop comprehensive treatment pathways for patients with complex aortic disease.
- Develop knowledge of commercially available endografts used to treat complex aortic disease.
- Perform basic open and endovascular skills required to treat a complex aortic aneurysm.
- Troubleshoot common intraoperative pitfalls in both open and endovascular procedures.
- Discuss relevant case studies in the management of complex aortic disease.
