  • Date: 29 September 2020
  • Time: 18:30 - 20:00
  • Category: Community,  General events
  • Location: Online

Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, and following public health advice from the Irish Government, the RCSI MyHealth Series 2020/2021 will take place online only.

As a health sciences institution, we want to do our part in containing the spread of COVID-19 and ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our communities and all those working in healthcare. We at RCSI are committed to continuing public healthcare education and we are confident that the virtual RCSI MyHealth Series will prove highly informative.

Living with the New Normal

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a certain level of change in how we go about our daily lives.  For some people, coping with this change has been particularly difficult.  From young children to the elderly in our society – everyone is coming to terms with living with the ‘new normal’. The panel will address the significant impact that sudden and extreme change can have on people’s lives, what we can do to make change easier to accept, and how to talk to our children about COVID-19

This panel discussion will be chaired by Professor Ciaran O’Boyle, Director of the RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health.

Register your interest for this event – a link to the lecture will be shared in advance.

Panelists include:

  • Prof. Eva Doherty, Clinical Psychologist and Director of Human Factors in Patient Safety, RCSI
  • Prof. Jim Lucey, RCSI Alumnus, Class of 1983, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Trinity College Dublin and Consultant Psychiatrist, St Patrick’s University Hospital
  • Dr Trudy Meehan, Lecturer at the RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health
