MyHealth RCSI discussion explores latest in asthma research

Almost 400 members of the public attended ‘Rethinking Asthma’, the latest in the MyHealth RCSI series which took place last night.
The event explored self-management of asthma, prevention of asthma attacks and new revolutionary treatments for those living with asthma.
The panel included two patient advocates who spoke about their lived experiences: Colet Murphy who has lived with severe asthma all her life and Caroline Madden whose son has asthma.
They were joined by Professor Richard Costello (RCSI Department of Medicine and Consultant Respiratory Physician at Beaumont Hospital), Professor Steve Kerrigan (Deputy Head of RCSI’s School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences) and Joanne Walsh (Practice Nurse at Mercer's Medical Centre).
MyHealth RCSI, supported by PRESIDIO, aims to demystify common health concerns by drawing expertise and insight from RCSI researchers and international health experts at the cutting-edge of medical and healthcare developments.
For those who weren’t able to join the event, a recording of the discussion will be shared in the coming weeks.
