Qatar University
Qatar University (QU) – the national institution of higher education in Qatar – is located in Doha and was established in 1973.
In 2021, RCSI and QU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim to develop collaborative academic and scientific initiatives, and strengthen bilateral co-operation between both institutions.
In 2023, RCSI and QU enrolled the first two PhD scholars on their newly established dual StAR PhD programme. This programme focuses on interdisciplinary research in health sciences and will award 10 scholarships covering five intakes of two scholars of any nationality from 2023 to 2027.
Each scholar will carry out their four-year structured PhD under the supervision of one RCSI supervisor and one QU supervisor, and spend two years working on their PhD in each location.
