Aim High Physiotherapy Access Scholarship
The Aim High Access Scholarships were established in 2012 by RCSI Alumni to provide financial support for Irish Leaving Certificate Examination students who excel academically and are passionate about developing lifelong careers in the health sciences.
The Aim High Physiotherapy Access Scholarship is offered to a student who is eligible to apply via CAO and the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR Scheme), entering RCSI's BSc Physiotherapy (RC004).
In addition to the normal supports provided through the Government Free Fees Initiative and SUSI Grant, the Aim High Physiotherapy Access Scholarship offers additional financial support of €20,000, for the duration of the student’s undergraduate programme.
The objective of the scholarship is to lessen the financial burden of attending University and allow students to fully focus on their academic coursework.
Aim High applicants must:
- Be eligible for admission to RCSI's Physiotherapy programme through the CAO (course code: RC004)
- Be eligible and apply for HEAR, and indicate in their CAO application that they wish to apply via the HEAR scheme.
- Submit a CAO application listing Physiotherapy (RC004) as a course choice.
- Have resided in Ireland for at least three of the past five years preceding admission.
- Present a minimum of six recognised subjects (2 x H5 and 4 x O6/H7) in the Irish Leaving Certificate to include Irish (unless exempt), English, Mathematics, a third language, a laboratory science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Physics/Chemistry or Agricultural Science) and one other recognised subject.
- Provide a personal statement as part of your application, detailing your motivation and commitment to study at RCSI and pursue a career as a healthcare professional.
- Arrange an academic referee (Guidance Counsellor, Teacher or School Principal) complete the Aim High Physiotherapy Scholarship Confidential Academic Reference Form in advance of the closing date of 1 July.
- Complete the online Aim High Physiotherapy Scholarship Application Form by the closing date of 1 July. Early application is encouraged.
