How to apply

Stage 1: Apply

  • Fill online application available on the website.
  • Non-refundable application fee (BSc in Nursing $50 and Medicine $100).
  • Upload all required documentation.
  • Email confirms receipt of application.

Stage 2: Interview

  • Eligible applicants will be notified by email.
  • Interview by a faculty member assessing communication skills, maturity, motivation, and suitability for a career in healthcare.
  • Nursing applicants required to sit English entrance exam or provide IELTS/TOFEL certificate.

Stage 3: Offer

  • Applicant considered by the admissions committee.
  • Recommended for appropriate entry-stage committee.
  • Notified of outcome by email within two weeks of interview of acceptance or otherwise.
  • Issued with a Full Offer*.
  • Issued with a Conditional Offer, i.e. pending achievement of conditions specified in the offer letter.
  • Placed on a wait list, which will be reviewed prior to commencement of programme.
  • Issued with a regret letter, indicating you have been unsuccessful in obtaining a place on the programme.

Stage 4: Accept

  • Submit signed acceptance of offer and proof of payment or sponsorship letter.
  • Submit final result to Admission Office (for conditional offers).
  • A final outcome letter will be sent.
  • An acceptance email required if any changes to entry stage.

Stage 5: Enrol

  • Submit attested, original, hard copy documents to complete registration process.
  • Complete payment of first year fees.
  • Attend Orientation.
  • Begin your journey as an RCSI Bahrain student.

 

*All offers are conditional on Higher Education Council (HEC) approval.

Required documents

Essential documentation required for application is as follows (incomplete applications will not be processed):

  • Secondary school Transcripts/Certificates (Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 to date if still in school, or final transcript with graduation certificate and certificate of good conduct).
  • University transcripts/certificates (if applicable).
  • English language qualification – e.g. IELTS Academic/TOEFL certificate or test booking confirmation
  • Scanned copy of passport, including photo page (must be valid for 6 months from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Scanned copy of CPR front and back (if applicable) (must be valid for 6 months in date from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Scanned copy of GCC identity card front and back (if applicable) (must be valid for 6 months in date from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Scanned copy of National identity card (must be valid for 6 months in date from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Academic Evaluation Form to be completed, signed and stamped by the school or University/other references with predicted grades if applicable. This form can be sent in separately by your referee (please see form for details).
  • Personal statement of between 500 and 1000 words. The purpose of the personal statement is to provide the Admissions Committee with an insight into you, your motivations and your suitability for a career in medicine. You should consider explaining the activities you have undertaken in preparing yourself for a career in medicine. Please note that your submissions should be your own work and not that of anyone else. If any plagiarism is detected in an applicant’s personal statement, the applicant will no longer be considered for admissions to the University

Please note: Applicants should include their unique Application Reference Number and full name on their application in all correspondence with the University.

  • Certified copies of all academic transcripts and certificates from school (Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 to date) and university (if applicable)
  • Scanned copy of passport, including photo page (must be valid for 6 months from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Scanned copy of CPR front and back (if applicable) (must be valid for 6 months in date from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Scanned copy of GCC identity card front and back (if applicable) (must be valid for 6 months in date from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Scanned copy of National identity card (must be valid for 6 months in date from commencement of programme i.e. September).
  • Academic Reference Form completed, signed and stamped by your school/university.
  • Applicants are required to complete an English language examination (Aptis)
