Aspire Orthopaedics
Aspire Orthopaedics was established by three internationally recognised consultant orthopaedic surgeons based at the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin, Ireland. Each surgeon has a high-volume practice focused on hip and knee surgery. Their combined expertise covers sports injuries, joint preservation, and joint replacement surgery.
The StAR MD programme at Aspire Orthopaedics offers comprehensive exposure to hip and knee surgery with a strong focus on research. The research team maintains active collaborations with Dublin City University and the Sports Medicine Department at UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic. Research fellows are expected to publish in leading peer-reviewed journals, and present at national and international conferences.
Clinically, fellows are exposed to a broad range of procedures including arthroscopy, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, multiligamentous knee reconstruction, osteotomy, primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty – with and without robotic assistance.
The StAR programme is ideally suited to candidates pursuing a career in sports knee surgery or high-volume arthroplasty, particularly those with a strong academic interest or a commitment to sub-specialist practice.
