Inside the Simulation Labs: Hands-On Clinical Learning at RCSI Bahrain

Throughout my nursing journey, I have developed many skills, such as critical thinking, through lectures, assignments, and other learning materials, where these skills were predominantly learned and utilized. What has really stood out to me over the years is how influential and crucial simulation labs are to our nursing careers and futures. RCSI Bahrain provided me with many opportunities where I was able to use many of my theoretical practices in scenario-based simulations, helping me build my leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills progressively.

In these simulation labs, I was exposed to many different aspects of nursing, such as: wound care, medication preparations, critical cases, and even communication skills. All these lab sessions were of extreme and great value as it truly shapes and prepare nursing students for their actual clinical rotation, where once they are met with such cases, they can act and respond appropriately and confidently due to the practice that was developed through the simulation labs.

One thing that I really love and look up to about RCSI Bahrain is that everything is taken into consideration when it comes to the education and training of future healthcare professionals. Everything is a priority and is taught and trained to ensure the best level of expertise that a nursing student can achieve, to ensure the best outcome and treatment for our future patients, and to provide us with a better community.

I find these factors and aspects to be highly important and valuable because they shape how a future healthcare provider works and delivers the best treatment for their patients. These simulation labs have been incredibly beneficial not just to me but also to many other nursing students and nurses today. They help us practice procedures and skills in a safe environment, where mistakes are allowed and are part of the learning journey, and where every challenge you overcome shapes you into a better, more reliable, and more confident healthcare professional.
